Install instructions
Once you download and unzip the binary distribution, a folder named TimeTracker would be
created. In this folder (henceforth called 'Root'), you will find three bat files.
Before you execute any of the batch files, please ensure that you have the following
pre-requisites met:
- This application runs on JDK 1.6. Please ensure that you have the relevant JDK/JRE
installed. You can download the JDK/JRE installable from Sun's web site by following the
link.
- Please ensure that java.exe is accessible via the system path. If you are unsure of
how to set system variables, please type "environment variables" into your windows help and support.
- This program tries to install a Windows service and hence please ensure that
you have appropriate system privileges to install and start services on your system.
Once you have the pre-requisites met, you can run the 'InstallTTracker-NT.bat' script to
install the Time Tracker application as a windows service. This script would also start
the application. On the first run of the application, you can add task in the lower
left text box and hit enter. You can see a green coloured cute window on the top
right of your screen telling you the current time spent.
You can use the 'reporter.bat' script to invoke the offline reporting application.
