A human skull, according to me is possibly the most beautiful structural
creation of nature. It is symetric, has perfect distribution of mass and volume
and is a structural masterpiece. Skull is also the first anatomical structure
that an portrait artist is made to learn.
This is one of my few attempts at exploring the world of carving. This relief carvind was done using an elliptical pre-fabricated bass wood. I used curved chisel to take out the extra wood from the edges. The smoothening was done using Dremmel rotary tool.
I am still not sure if I want to dig deeper into the world of carving, but will give it a couple of more attempts to ascretain the traction.
