The other day my wife was teaching my son how to write 'Elephant'. My son writes
words by means of phonetic breakdown, and he ended up writing 'ELEFANT', which was
logically correct as per his line of thought and hence he was extremely reluctant to
budge from his position. The funny part was for some reason he remembered that elephant
had 8 letters and his word had only 7.. so suddenly he picks up the pencil and adds
another T making it 'ELEFANTT'. It was a delight to see the sense of accomplishment
in his eyes and the admiration in his mother's.
Well, this is a sketch which I did two years back.. my son was small enough to be held up like that :). It was done after grand parent's delight and you can see signs of improvement on the hand and wrist part. You can download a higher resolution image of the sketch here. |
